Q: What is your favorite part about being a teacher?
A: Learning from my students—I am always surrounded by brilliant minds!
Q: Why did you decide to be a Spanish teacher?
A: I was interested in teaching language and history. As a Spanish teacher, I do both of these things and more!
Q: What college/colleges did you go to?
A: I attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri for undergraduate and graduate studies, and the Summer Language Institute of Southern Oregon University.
Q: What schools have you taught in?
A: The best year (and change) of my career in SEP! Before that, 7 years in Boone High School, and 2 years each in Knox Co. R-1 in Edina, Missouri and Norwalk High School.
Q: What about teaching makes you passionate?
A: The best way to teach Spanish is focusing on the people I teach. I am curious to learn about them, and it provides us a task to use the language!
Q: What sparked your unique style of teaching?
A: Two main sources: Real language use and sense of humor (mistakes and misunderstandings are part of the process).
Q: What is your favorite thing about your students?
A: Energy (buenas vibras).
Q: If you weren’t a teacher what would you want to be?
A: Author/professor/poodle publicist.
Q: Where is your dream place to live/ travel?
A: Argentina/Chile. I would love to spend the New Year there!
