Sugar Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

-2 ¾ cups flour

-1 tsp. baking soda

-½ tsp. baking powder

-1 cup butter, softened

-1 ½ cups sugar

-1 egg

-1 tsp. vanilla extract 

 

Instructions :

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Mix together dry ingredients except sugar.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar together in a separate bowl.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
  5. Add the dry mix gradually. (I usually use my hands to mix the dry ingredients in until it form a soft dough ball.)
  6. These are drop cookies so take a bit of dough and roll it into a ball.
  7. Then place the ball on a greased pan and flatten a bit.
  8. If you would like, you can place a sprinkle of sugar on top of the cookie before baking. I find that it adds a touch of sweetness.
  9. Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
