January Artist of the Month: Brandy Burge

Q: What art do you practice?
A: I mainly focus on drawing and painting.
Q: What mediums do you use?
A: I prefer to use acrylic paint when painting.
Q: How long have you been creating?
A: I’ve been creating things since elementary school, but have started to take pride in what I create in eighth grade.
Q: What is your favorite art class and why?
A: My favorite art class is Drawing because I got to focus on my detail work on small scale projects.
Q: What are your plans for after high school?
A: I plan on attending the University of Northern Iowa and majoring in Theater with an Emphasis on Technical Design.
Q: Was there anyone that inspired you/introduced you to art?
A: There wasn’t really one single person that inspired me to create, I just love doing it.
Q: What is your favorite project you have created and why?
A: My favorite project I have finished is a charcoal drawing of a loon. It’s my favorite because I felt like I was watching it come to life as I was drawing it.
Q: I heard you are currently working on a project, can you tell me more about it?
A: I have recently finished a painting from the 2019 musical Guys and Dolls. It was my favorite musical to be a part of and I wanted to immortalize it.
