Homemade Candles

Preparing for the holidays is one of the most stressful times of the year. But, it doesn’t have to be. Whether you want to make something heartfelt with your own hands, or you want to keep your budget low, these at home holiday candles can make your preparations just a little easier.

Some of things you’ll need for this holiday craft is time, patience, and creativity. You’ll also need:

  • Candle wax (in beads or blocks)
  • A few candle scents
  • One pot and a glass mixing bowl
  • Wicks and the setting wax for them (can be found at Michaels or Hobby Lobby)
  • Any size jar and coloring if you want it

Making the candles is pretty simple, it just takes time.

First, you’ll need to get your pot out and fill it about halfway with water. In your glass mixing bowl, take the wax and set it in the heating water. You’ll let that boil until all the wax is heated up to 180 degrees. While that’s heating, stir occasionally, but in your free time, get your jars and set the wicks at the bottom center. Once your wax is heated add the scent, stir, and let cool until 140 degrees. Then, slowly pour into the jars while holding the wick center until set. Once fully set spark the wick and enjoy!!
