Athlete of the Month: James Glenn
Q: How long have you been playing basketball?
A: This will be my tenth season.
Q: What is your drive to play basketball?
A: Mostly just my love of the game and to give everything I have into it to make my family proud.
Q: What is your favorite aspect of playing basketball?
A: Has to be the competition day in and day out.
Q: What are the practices like?
A: They’re always really competitive.
Q: What is your goal for this season?
A: To win a state title.
Q: Do you or your teammates have any pre-game rituals?
A: I would always do yoga and sleep before heading off to our game.
Q: Outside of practice, how do you or your teammates train?
A: I usually workout on my own everyday and lift three times a week. Often I get shots up with some of my teammates as well.
Q: What is your favorite basketball memory?
A: Probably winning state my freshman year with three of my brothers on the same team. Also beating Ames my sophomore year because it really felt like it gave us a push for the rest of the season.
Q: What do you like the most about Southeast Polk’s program?
A: I love how everyone is brought into the program and wants to get better everyday to be the best that we can be.
Q: What is a life lesson you have learned from playing basketball?
A: I really learned how to be a leader and how to work as a team.
Q: What advice would you give to your peers or those starting to play basketball?
A: Just stick with it. If you really love the game, it will reward you too.

A: I can’t wait for this season! I encourage anyone that can make it to our games to do it! Go Rams!
