November Athlete of the Month: Jacie Mitchell

Q: How long have you been running cross country?
A: 6 years.
Q: Why did you decide to join cross country?
A: I’ve always loved running and my sibling did it.
Q: Who introduced you to cross country?
A: My mom.
Q: Do you plan on running in college?
A: I’m keeping my options open but I haven’t decided.
Q: What was your favorite this season and why?
A: Marshalltown, because I like the course.
Q: Who is someone you look up to and why?
A: My mom because she inspires me to do my best.
Q: What is your favorite part of cross country?
A: Being with the team and team dinners.
Q: How do you get through a cross country race?
A: Telling myself to stay motivated and to go faster.
Q: Will you continue running in the future?
A: If I don’t run in college, I want to participate in marathons or other road races.
Q: What is your biggest accomplishment or something you’re proud of?
A: Running at state all four years.
