Superbowl LVI

Super Bowl LVI took place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, February 13.

Freshman Zane Gifford talked about what Super Bowl Sunday looks like for him.

“I celebrate with my family coming over. If we do not really like either of the teams that are playing then it is more chill when we watch and more like a hangout. If it is going to be a suspenseful game or a team we do like or really hate, we are always anxious,” said Gifford.

Gifford wants the Los Angeles Rams to win because of certain players on the Cincinnati Bengals such as Joe Burrow, the quarterback.

Sophomore Karsen Shelburg has similar feelings about the Bengals’ quarterback.

“I hope the Rams win even though my favorite team is the Chiefs, because I would also like to see Joe Burrow do bad,” said Shelburg.

Out of 17 total games, the Rams have 12 wins. The Bengals currently have 10 total wins according to https://www.therams.com/schedule/standings/.

It was a suspenseful game with halftime performances by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. Gifford and Shelburg were excited for the halftime performance especially for Snoop Dogg.

“I am really excited for Snoop Dogg and think it will be a good performance. If I could change anything I would have YNW Melly perform for halftime because he is a good performer and a hype artist,” said Gifford.

Though a team may not be someone’s favorite, they can still predict the opposing team to win.

“I want the Rams to win but I feel like the Bengals will because they have Joe Burrow and he is a pretty good quarterback,” said Shelburg.

Gifford has a different idea.

“I feel like the Rams will win not just because I want them to but because the Bengals haven’t been to the Super Bowl in 30 years,” said Gifford.
